Laura is here and she is wonderful. Exceptional English skills, neat and tidy, fun and practical, sweet and kind. We did get the best of them I think.
She was told by Herr S. and both Marga and Mrs. Gabriel* that we were the best of the host families, we are trying to hold that up.
We have visited her school, bought school supplies and shoes, walked for miles around the neighborhood and along the river, cooked and baked, swam and played with Peaches.
It feels like she has been here much longer and her presence has made our missing the boys a little easier.
Today we are off to meet the mayor and then spend the day at the amusement park, Friday is sailing on the lake, Tuesday is our school ipad training and Wednesday will be her in school orientation before full days start. I'm filling our free time but not feeling like I need to hover or worry. I have promised a hand knit sweater though, so we may take a ride to the yarn shop, she's tiny so that should be a quick one.
Anyway, it's all good, this is just what I need right now.
* Mrs. Gabriel was here five years ago when Connor went to Germany (and broke his arm) and Pia stayed with us. She was very freaked out to find less of me because of my weight loss.
