This arrived yesterday from Griffin's K:
It's not gone yet, but we are getting there.
I was also delighted to receive a package and card from our Margene.
Gary - who is sweet everyday - made sure that I woke up to a handmade card.
It has been nice to have such sweetness to remind me that the mid February slump comes and goes every year. The days have been colder and damp, the house is a little torn up with another small remodel* and the weekend ahead looks crazy**, so I'm keeping my head down and working on hats.
This one is done and ready for the pile:
The pattern is Wurm, the yarn is some ancient STR mediumweight from the stash. It was a mindless and somewhat boring knit, but I like the finished hat.
For the next one, I'm back to cables:
It will be done soon, see you then!
* Mom's room has always had a sliding door to the back yard - but no exterior steps - plus it was always cold - so Jim has replaced the door with a window and is putting things back together. There is exterior siding drama and he better remember that the paint needs to be the eggshell finish or there could be pouting.
** Friday - Mom has major dental work in the morning, Connor needs to be retrieved from Elmira at 2:30pm (6 hours round trip), Miss S gets off the bus at 3:30pm, Griffin needs a ride into school at 7:30am with his snowboard and then needs to be retrieved at midnight.
Saturday - Connor will unleash a mountain of laundry, Griffin has a fancy date dance followed by a late stop for food with K, my new Matchless is scheduled to arrive.
Sunday - Griffin needs to be at the airport at 6am to fly to Boston and then travel onto New Hampshire for 5 days of snowboarding.
You might be the busiest person I know. Your fruit basket looks awesome! What a nice son.

I think you need to be three people with three cars to keep all those driving committments!
I love the edible fruit flowers. They always smell so good (and they're tasty too!)

The fruit looks yummy and what a cute little red basket too!
Your weekend list makes me tired just reading it...hope you have some help with the driving duties.

At least you had a nice day as a prelude to the oncoming hectic weekend.
I love the Wurm hat. The one I made is one of my favorites because it makes my tiny head look more normal-sized.

What a driving load. Good luck with it. Enjoy your time with Connor.
Wonderful hats.

Your Saturday is making me feel much better about my Sunday, which will involve being in a nail salon with nine 7-year-old girls in tiaras (note to self, don't forget to buy tiaras).
And new Matchless - sounds like a good Sunday, despite the laundry.

She's a nice girl, that K.
Sounds like a normal weekend for you. ;^) Should I come out and drive carpool? Or hold down the fort while you're out driving all over everywhere? You know I wouldn't mind.

That K certainly is a nice girl and of course, she loves you :D mmmmmm.
Your Friday... is that even possible for one person to accomplish? if you're picking Connor up at 2:30 then driving back home which will take 3 hours.. no way will you be back by 3:30 for Miss S. ?!?!?
I will say, after Friday the rest of the weekend almost looks like a piece of cake.

Your Friday would kill me. D.E.D.

Whoa. That is a crazy busy Friday.
Suddenly I have a craving for pineapple... Can't understand it!

Yep. That's a crazy weekend you've got in the hopper. (But that Wurm hat is Very Cool.)

Awww!
You're making me appreciate my days of being chained to a desk.

So many somebodies love you, and you deserve so much love!
That is a fun hat, though I can see where the knitting could get a bit boring. The cables on the new hat might keep your attention a bit more.
That is a lot of busyness. You are definitely a better person than I if you can attend to anything else once the new Matchless arrives.
