--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anywhoos, that was this morning. The kids did get up and fed and showered, then we were out the door to retrieve a few more. I dropped 7 kids at the amusement park and then picked up 8 at the end of the day and somehow two of the original kids went home. This German math is doing me in.
Right now I have 12 (or 13) kids in the basement (I'm still not sure where the other 4/5 came from) playing Rock Band and eating pizza.
This is all cheering up #1 Son because at yesterday's doctor appointment they removed the original cast, xrayed the arm and then put a new cast on the whole arm. The hand/wrist/thumb look horrible, as The Mr. says, "horror film horrible" because the muscles have all atrophied and his thumb position was not ideal because of the initial swelling.
The poor boy needs 2 more weeks in the cast and then probably months of PT. He received AP Chem homework in the mail today and burst into tears because he couldn't open the envelope himself.
So friends and fun and food are helping. Tomorrow the group will spend the day at the Falls and aside from the driving part of it, I should get a little break.
Somehow I've gotten myself roped into fixing/finishing a lace project for a friend, more on that tomorrow.
So sorry for your son - hope the friends and family lift his spirits.

Awwww, ice cream or chocolate seems appropriate at a time like this.

Hope #1 is feeling more himself today - that's a crummy setback.
Your list is a wonder - you don't like olives? Really? And #23 just about did me in.
xoxo

So sorry for #1. The extra and multiplying young people should be an excellent distraction.

Oh I'm so sorry about your son's arm and cast. What a letdown!
But, wow, I thought my house was a zoo this summer. Your house sounds even busier!

I almost cried for #1. I remember that feeling of not being able to do the simplest things. Tell him to buck up little buckaroo. It will get better and one day he'll have a great story to tell his kids.
Mmmm... cannoli ice cream? Yum! And I love how full your glass is. :D

Big hugs to #1 son. The arm will be back to normal in no time. He just needs to be a little creative in how he does things now. Tell him it's a chick magnet! That should get you a smile.

I feel for #1Son and his frustration, but... 2 weeks is so doable. Hope everything knits together better now :^)and good thing he has so many friends for distraction!

Sounds like a perfect day except the new cast of course. I like my steak medium well to well on the rare occasion I eat it. Loving the vest.

The ability to surprise - especially 'a cigarette girl in a nightclub or a nun', and yes if you can 1) knit lace, and 2) trained as an accountant, I am sure you 'have four debit cards, and know exactly what the balances are', and may I venture to say, puzzled why everyone else is so lackadaisical not knowing what their exact balances are. LOL.
