The Whirligig Vest:
11 more rows and I can add the armhole steeks. #1 Son has given up on pestering me about the completion date. It does help that our weather is finally summer warm and that he's busy with Pia and the Germans (great band name I think).
He is my boy who is always thinking ahead. He's selected these blues for Vest #2:
There are also rumbles of brown and red, orange and something and black with purple.
I am either doomed or no longer a lace knitter. But we will see.
Today will possibly see the removable of the boy's cast and I have a class to teach later. Then there is the matter of a friend in need of a knitting emergency house call and Pia will be back from Toronto quite late. Busy, busy, happy, happy.
At least he has excellent color sense! (But I think the only way you're going to have time for lace is if you can convince him a lace vest would be cool.)

You really do knit in your sleep, don't you?
Please inform those people in your house that next year you are knitting lace. Perhaps nothing but lace and there will be no arguing or they will have to deal with me. (The horror!)

That sounds like such a great life. Those blues will make me weep with longing, I'm sure. And then I will plot my first foray into fair isle...

I don't suppose you could talk him into a lace vest knit from that blue Felted Tweed? Nah, I didn't think so.

The vest looks absolutely beautiful, and I love the blues for the next one! I have been wanting to make a vest for myself for so long, I should really get on that... Hey wait, can YOU make me a vest? :P

He's going to be one of the best-dressed kids this fall.
Black and purple. That will really be dramatic.

Awww, no more lace? That's an awful lot of vests, but I love the blues! I look forward to watching that vest grow.

Dont' forget to rest!

The garden looks fabulous as does that vest. Sounds like it's a happy time and I'm happy for you!

There's nothing for it but that boy needs to learn to knit. Then he can have vests in all the colors he wants and you can go back to knitting lace. Wait, why are you laughing?

Yes, it does look different :^)
Love that felted tweed and what gorgeous colours, there and what will be added!

How many vests can he want? Uh, scratch that. At least he had good taste!!
And wow, your garden is gorgeous. Better than the UC Botanical Gardens (I went yesterday).

The vest looks wonderful, and those are great color choices for the next. It is possible to use the rest of the colors together with a few more if you make him that Halloween vest. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/halloween-vest
